Taking up any instrument as an adult can be intimidating and most people don't really know where to start. Several adult students have told me that the hurdle of simply renting an instrument had prevented them from starting lessons for months or even years before they eventually got in touch with me!
Good news; you can take a lesson even without your own instrument whether you're a pure beginner, or you've "played for a few years as a kid but are certain you've totally forgotten everything."
Feel free to play on an instrument of mine for a lesson or two and you'll gain a better overview of the entire pursuit. If you feel motivated to continue, I am happy to help you through the process of renting or eventually purchasing a cello from a local shop, figuring out which metronome or tuner you might want, and even finding a good chair to play on at home.
The only thing you'll need to do on your own is practice...but only if you want to get better!

"I began studying with Daniel after receiving my bachelor's degree from CSUN in cello performance. After working with some of the city's top teachers over the years I can say Mr. Grab has true teaching talent, a refined ear, and is an all around great guy. The gains I saw in my playing were immediate and long-lasting. I recommend anybody trying to take their playing to the next level consider working with Daniel." -Billy Tobenkin
"As an artist, actress, and filmmaker, I'm always hungry to learn more and I've worked with numerous coaches and mentors. I played the cello for barely a couple years as a teenager, and I wanted to play again as an adult... but I had forgotten so much. While I've kept my passion for the instrument alive in my heart, my body and mind had completely forgotten the language the cello speaks. Daniel is not only helping me re-learn that language, his guidance is also reinforcing my confidence and my love for this incredible instrument. I can't wait to continue the musical path I've started again and see where it takes me! - Krystal White
